PHPEdit.

It has great code completion. but all we need now is an IDE like delphi that can code complete function and classes you have written and them were in business

scite is the name of the editor (or at least the name of the .exe file)

Overall it's a good editor. It still has a few flaws, but fewer then the other editors I've tried. it has config files for all different kinds of languages (php, html, vb, java, etc..)

I have used many of the editors listed by people in this thread at various times and did, by choice, use PHPedit for a long time. It is a competent editor in its own right but has been greatly superceded by the functionality within Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. If you are prepared to pay money for your editor then this is an excellent product for all round web development.

8O Dreamweaver MX can't do WYSIWYG php can it??!! I didn't think there were any WYSIWYG editors for PHP, all kinda manual, but helpful.. -but what do I know.. I use Notepad :p

I sure like vi and have used it for some time. It is real easy to move around. I use editors but I alwasy come back to vi :)

DOS edit!!!!! I was using that for a while till I kept running into the problem of only being able to have 9 files open at a time.

phpedit (v0.6 on a win98 platform)

syntactically wonderful for class programming and not at all shoddy for procedural work

tried Vi and Vim and though they are great for many languages, they are beaten by phpedit if you're just after coding php

I use Crimson editor for pretty much all my coding... i fond it recegnises pretty much all languages including php... simple yet very efficient !

I'm happy with Dreamweaver MX for the coloring and easy file synchronization tools :)

Notepad... have dreamweaver but use it like 1% of the time, cause it takes a while to load on my system.
