Best editor for PHP

4.0.2 had some bug fixes and performance upgrades :) i suggest you download it :)
i never liked database connections in Zend... ever since Zend Studio 4 Beta i was a bit sceptic about it...

But i would say like this:

Inetrnal and External debuging
FTP access
GREAT Intellisence and autocomplete
Good Project manager
Profiling feature
Output window posts a HTML source which i like much more :)
SQL editor
CSS, XML, HTML editors build-in

And no: maguma and PHPEdit are worthles after yo have tried studio ^^

Use 2 editor PHP Expert Editor, Zend 4.0.2 and php 4.3.11 :)

First of all: php4.3.11 is old and you cant make good OO apps with it as it still has pretty dull support for OOP
However i would recommend Zend Studio Server and Client for development machines, then use php5.0.4 or, even better get used to php 5.1 PDO as its very usefull and i really like it.

and PHP Expert Editor looks like a peace of crap... I tested it and it really was crap... sorry... just an opinion of a person that really knows how to choose an IDE ;)

Never used a editor before im a simple notepad type of guy..hehe

well: notepad is usefull when developing small applications or scripts, but when going huge: you often need an IDE to make a life a bit easier. It helps you to speed up your development, plus some good IDE like Zend Studio checks your code for errors on the fly :)

Very True, I shoud try too look into using editors, i just have been stuck and well stuborn on using notepad for everything i do. Which in most cases as you said "would speed up development" if using a editor.

supporting many languages has never been a positive side for professionals as they know that its best that the software developers should concentrate on making it great, not only good, for one language...

when they have to make it work with several languages: the quality drops... especially with free editions..

The ONLY IDE that i know, note: IDE, not editor like most of you say, that is good with several languages is Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2003 and 2005 (BETA 2 is awsome)

PHPEdit = you cant be serious! it sucks like hell! I still dont get it why dont you use Zend Studio on Windows as well?
but anyways: PHPEdit ?! sooo consused and so on.. :?

Interesting to see at yours work... made by Notepad.exe. How fast you are create CMS application... I'm think near 10 years.

P.S. Your picture with 2 shrews is too old

I've been working with Zend Studio lately, it's quite nice

I've been working with Zend on windows.... and I used to work with PHPEdit... sucks if you type a } on the first character of the line it will get stuck... at least the version I had.

Macromedia DreamveawerMX 2003 is a best editor for PHP.
javascript, html and php we can easily write with the help of functions and highlighing of keywords.
We can also connect server via ftp or web

Sure: if you cant afford something better ;) it was a joke.. hehe .. i suggest you try Zend Studio as i guess you didnt yet..

It has all of what youve said and much more... but if you are a designer... then you might like to stick with DW... but then i suggest you using MX 2004 instead... DW 8 is out soon as well... you might like it... but none of Macromedia product has a debugger :D

Macro Media Dreamweaver v.8 is good for PHP coding
we can also design html and css using this

Exactly i like to do php with html design
So I prefer DW. Extra fetures hv included in v8
lack of Debugging support is drawback
Any way why we need it for a webbased application
It is my doubt

firosit: when you get to a 100% OOP-programming you willb e separating templates from your code, and it will be easier to work, that way you will stop working with PHP in DW. Especially because DW doest have intellisence function and it lacks the full support for intellycheck, actually it lacks it 100%.

There are other functions that DW will never get, ut for easy coding-it might me a good thing..
