can we search a long text field?

guys can we search a long text field?

i am planning to use this field to store html code, so that if i view the content of the field it will be viewed as html.

can i still search on that field.

how can we do that? if you're not too interested to answer my questions directly i will appreciate if you give me links on how to search, for dummies please --- i'm just a newbie
