hello. I just installed mySQL and was looking around the documentation. Before, I used a Control Panel to add users, and add user to databases and such. how do I do that manually? I tried looking at the documentation, and I just got confused. I tried to add someone and couldnt figure out what i was doing wrong. I logged in as root, added a user to the mysql.user table and it would not allow me to login. I dont understand what the problem is. Can someone help me out plz? Direct answer's are not necessary, but online resources would be of good help.
