how to install png , jpeg library ?

hello again it seems that before having the gd 2.08 library working , i have to install first the png and jpeg library. and i'm some how a novice in linux , can anyone give me all the steps to install and compile those 2 librairies ?.

please help me ? :?:

i think you oneto compile gd library with php but jpeg,png libs :roll:
it depends on gd whether it supports jpeg ,gif or png...
 
another solution is to use imagemagick or netpbm which is leaps and bounds better than GD
