Is Hot Dog Pro 7 a decent PHP editor?

Hi-

I've been using HD Pro for years, but now am at the beginning of a steep learning curve with PHP. I am still editing with HD, but without a PHP engine in my current version (6), I have to take it on faith that my includes are working right until I view them over the web.

I realize that HD is not one of the more popular editors for reasons I can't understand, but even so, are there any good reasons why I should NOT use the latest version which has PHP support?

Opinions?

Thanks

Why not use a real text editor to do the scripts? Emacs for example with a php mod script...

...I probably should have quantified that statement by saying that I wanted a WYSIWYG editor to lay out pages, not just to do scripts.

ANy comments on Hot DOg?

Thanks!

I don't know what PHP-related features Hot Dog has, but from their web site it looks like not much.

If you really want to use a WYSIWYG editor, then what you should do is design your pages in Hot Dog, save them, and then use a true PHP editor to add your PHP code.

try Dreamweaver...
its a quite good editor and lets you design pages..

but i use Zend Studio 3.5.2 Plus for all my PHP scripting..
