Server overload security

Hello everyone!

Some web sites show an error message as soon as their server is about to get overloaded with requests. Does anybody around here know how this is achieved?

try this

http://server-name/server-status

but for that you need to enable server-status configuration in Apache

I'm not sure what advanced admin open it for simple user.....
