upload multiple files

how do you upload multiple files using only a single input type ='file' and a singe button to upload the file?
I've been looking around for this, the closest solution was to have multiple input type 'file' for each file to be uploaded......

it's not possible to use just one <input type=file> you have to use multiple tags.
