Re: blank page - Google Maps API tutorial

Loaded firebug and the error console plugins in Firefox and got a syntax error "missing ; after for-loop initializer". Saw that there was a , instead of ; then I was getting an error place.geomtery undefined, turned out to be a spelling error (geometry instead of geomtery). Below is the correct code...

Re: blank page - Google Maps API tutorial

I'm not saying it's problem solved, but I don't think the comma belongs on the end of this line: If I leave just this bit of code the map will load. As soon as I add the two additional functions (callback and createMarker) and the two additional variables (request and service) to show locations of ...

blank page - Google Maps API tutorial

I'm following this tutorial about using the google maps api to display a map with markers showing the locations of cafes within an 8 mile radius of a set of lat/long coordinates. I cannot for the life of me figure out why I'm getting a blank page. The tutorial uses Sublime Text as a text editor so i...

using html files with PHP files vs just using PHP files

What is the difference between using a .html file calling on a .php file vs just using a .php file with the html in it? Is one way more secure than the other? Performance issues either way? Best practice? Example index.html - has a login form that has action="login.php" where the php coding is in lo...

Re: Login form just refreshes

When using header to change location you can't have any output before that. Check the manual: http://php.net/manual/en/function.header.php Thank you element!! I searched all over reading different articles but never actually went to php.net to read, which I should have. lol After removing all of th...

Re: Login form just refreshes

So I added <?php echo "Session ID = ".$_SESSION['user']; ?> to the index page and the session is getting created. If I go to /logout.php I do see it has me logged in and I can logout with no issue. So it's just not redirecting me to home.php after a successful login. is this the correct way to send ...

Re: Login form just refreshes

Thanks for the replies! I tried action="", action="/index.php", and action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" with no luck. When the login button is clicked I can tell that it's running through if (isset($_POST['btn-login'])) since I get the Wrong Details error if I type the wrong password in. Wo...

Login form just refreshes

Pulling my hair out trying to figure out why my login form is just refreshing (that's what it acts like) the page when the submit button is clicked. I followed a tutorial on creating a registration page, login page, logout page, and a home page (where you should be taken after logging in). If I ente...
